We took Steve's mom and Aunt to dinner on Friday night and that was fun. We do not do that very often, but I loved it. I wish we had the time or should I say we need to make the time to do it more often because little things like that is what makes great memories.
Saturday was Logan's last soccer game and mom's retirement party. Yep, that is right her Retirement Party. Finally, she is moving on to her new chapter in her life. It was a small party because we knew if it was too big she would have really killed us. She already wasn't too happy with us but she got over it. Today was a day to tackle the house. When you are gone all week and all weekend, the house seems to take a beating, especially inside. Yikes! The best part of the night for me anyway was seeing sweet little Lydia - Sean's oldest interact with the aunts/uncles. In coming to the party she was asking Sean who all of these people were and he was explaining to her that they were Grandpa's sisters and brothers. She then said in a sad voice " Daddy, I really miss grandpa - remember when he would hold me on the couch" (heart breaking) and then when she was outside sitting on Uncle Tom's lap she was telling him a story about Grandpa and how much she missed him and Uncle Tom was telling her he missed him too and it was just a very touching moment. To see this little girl, just have those aunts/uncles eating out of her hand - it was a great sight to see. And I thank them all, for taking the time to play with her and interact with her, she had a blast.
It is going to be another crazy yet busy week and very hot. I hope everyone stays cool.
I hope your weekend was blessed with time spent with family and friends!
Miss and love you dad, so much
Much love to all,
