Quiet Weekend

sorry for not posting in a bit I kept meaning too but things just kept coming and the day slipped away. Nothing too exciting this weekend, it was my birthday on Saturday and I spent the day with the boys at their soccer games and just hanging out at the house. Then Steve and I had a date night on Saturday night and it was fun but we were home early. I had promised Brayden movie night, and Mindy and Mom were painting her family room and I didn't want my wild children in the way. So it was a perfect way to end "just another day".

Sunday we just hung out around the house. With mom painting the family room and everything array we decided not to go over there - but this weekend it is the superbowl and all of us always go over there, especially this year with Green Bay in the Superbowl. For some reason dad liked Green Bay he would just always say the Pack is Back Baby, the Pack is Back. So we will, at least I will be rooting for Green Bay on Sunday.And we will be celebrating Logan's birthday - a month late but what do you expect when your birthday is two days after Christmas :)

I hope everyone is prepared for this dreadful ice storm we are getting. It doesn't sound as bad as Chicago - could you imagine. If it does happen and you do go out tomorrow be careful, I can do the snow, but I can't stand ice. Too nerve wracking.

Have a great night everyone - miss and love you dad ~ so much.

Much love to all,

Ah Snow....

why are you still here. I know there are many of us that are tired of you already and it is only the end of January - you seemed to have been around forever - as much as I love the purity of you, I do hate the  wrevac you cause each and every time you visit. It is a wonder that any parent still has a job, with delays and closings. I believe I speak for most of us parents - we are done with you now, can you please go back into the clouds and we do not want to see you until December :)

It snowed just enough to cause delays - which causes a crazy morning. At least it is Friday. Can you believe it is the end of the month already - time, it just whizzes by in the blink of an eye. Logan, my sweet little Logan says to me last night " Mom, when are we going to sing to me for my birthday. Grandma Jean and Grandma Cookie haven't seen me blow out my candles yet "  - I guess he is asking for a birthday party :)... Steve, Brayden and I had a small party at our house on his birthday and sang to him but we haven't had either families parties yet - it is has just been a crazy month. So I guess this weekend I will be planning a party for my sweet little Logan LOL

I hope everyone has a great weekend - pray to the snow Gods that we are done with this white stuff :) Another busy weekend for us with soccer games, date night (Woo Hoo) and dinner at mom's on Sunday. Stay warm and safe this weekend - enjoy your time with your family and friends. And continue to count the many blessings you have.

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNT CAROL ~ Sending you a great big birthday HUG and KISSES!!!

Ms. Olivia

Ms. Olivia - she is becoming such a beautiful young lady - dad would be so proud of her. She is really into dancing and she is great at it. They have been having competitions because she is on the dance team, so they go out of town for these competitions - most of them are close, but the Nationals are in Chicago this year - we were saying on Sunday if she makes it that far it might just be a weekend getaway.

It is fun to watch her dance now because she is so good. Here are some pictures from her last dance competition - she is so beautiful and tall and skinny - ah to be young again :) Good luck this weekend on your competition.

It is Wednesday - volleyball night with the girls and of course Brayden has cub scouts - everything always at once right. I hope everyone is having a great week so far. Hoping that this snow melts soon - I am so ready for spring - so ready.

Cold..

Brr it was a cold weekend but we had so much fun. The boys both had soccer games on Saturday morning and as much as Logan hated getting up for his 8:00 game, he did really well for the first time. Mind you when we went to his game it was a -7: CRAZY!!! But he did so well running and trying to kick the ball, he would stop every once in a while to wave at me and then right after the game the first thing he said was "Where is my snack". LOL Here he is with his shirt on that he was super excited to get. He just so much wants to be like Brayden.

Then it was off to Brayden's game and he played fantastic - he is really getting the hang of it and is doing really well. He scored a goal within the first three minutes of the game - and then played great defense. After the game we rushed to the Pinewood Derby at school. Steve and him worked so hard on the car and they had fun doing it. Steve wasn't able to be there so Logan and I stayed the whole time. Logan was so cute in that he followed Brayden and his friends around and tried so hard to be like him. Brayden's car didn't do so well - it came in last in all (4) races. I told him not to worry about it and next year we would call Uncle Sean and Uncle Jeremy for pointers LOL. He was fine until about the third lost and then I could see the disappointment on his face. But he had fun anyway - he said he had a great time. Steve was so sweet and left Brayden a note for his race. It really made Brayden's day. Here are pictures of his car and of Logan trying so hard to be like his big brother :)

So most of our day was spent at school and when we got home Logan was wiped out - he didn't even last five minutes. Poor thing.

After we all napped for a bit :) we have Movie Night - this is my favorite part of the weekend. The boys get their sleeping bags out and we pop some popcorn and all lay on the floor and watch a movie - I love these moments!

Yesterday we headed to mom's to celebrate birthdays - HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILL - today is also Tonya's Birthday - so I want to say a HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HER TOO - it is a busy month for birthdays. But at mom's it was the first time everyone was there in a while, so it was fun and loud and chaotic; thank you Jen for the wonderful dinner!

On a side note, want to send out a special prayer to Carol - mom's neighbor, she is having a tumor removed from her neck where she found a lump. Just what we needed another person going through this. Sending you all my love and prayers.

I hope everyone has a great Monday - try to stay warm.

Snow, Snow ~ Go Away

as much as I like the snow - I am so ready for the cold of the snow to go away. Brr.... We had so much fun last night. The boys and I went outside to play in it because Santa gave them new sleds and it was such a blast - Sunday we will be going over to mom's since she has bigger hills - who needs Perfect North.

Tomorrow is one of those crazy Saturdays where we have two soccer games, the Pinewood Derby for Brayden's Boy Scouts, and church. Busy, Busy, Busy but it will be fun. Logan is super excited about playing soccer tomorrow - it is his first game and he has waited so long. He just always wants to do what Brayden does. He will be my child to get the Red Card in the first game - he is a tough little guy LOL

Here are some pictures from last night - it was cold but so much fun. I hope everyone goes out and enjoys the snow even if it is just for a few minutes with the exception of today - it is COLD!!!!!

White Death

are you prepared for it? Did you go to the store last night, fill up the gas tank and just sit there and wait for it to happen. Well, it is here - the snow is coming. It cracks me up how people flip out over snow. Sure it stinks to drive in it and it can get a little crazy driving in it - it is just funny. I know mom is loving it, another snow day for her. She is having a rough year with the students that she has - it has been hard and I know, at least if I were here be counting down to that last day of school - and look forward to retirement.

Continuing to pray for Aunt Carol's niece - it just really puts your life in perspective and makes you forget about all of the petty things when there is things that are so much bigger than us. It just really sucks that anyone that young has to go through something like that. Makes you really count your blessings and take in what is REALLY important in your life.

I hope everyone is safe today and stays home or makes it to work - just be careful and take your time.

Miss and love you dad~ so much.

Continue Prayers

Message from Aunt Carol:

I just wanted you to know that Saturday was my first UK basketball game! Mike, me, Pat, Lisa, Eric & Tara all went. I really enjoyed it even if it was a blow out! Makes for a nicer ride home.

Thanks for posting about my niece Colleen. I found out last Thursday that she is a stage four since they found that the spots on her sternum & spine are cancer. So please continue the prayers since she has a very long road ahead of her. She starts chemo this Friday the first of eight treatments then surgery then radiation and reconstruction. All prayer are appreciated. Love & Hugs

"Aunt" Carol

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I hear this it makes me wonder why bad things happen to such young people. It is sad and it breaks my heart - guess we can never really truly understand the "why" of things but just to continue our prayers to God and know and have complete faith that he is with her as she begins this long hard journey.
Can I just say I HATE that C word - HATE IT, HATE IT, HATE IT, HATE IT
Adventure Weekend
it was an adventure weekend, at least for Logan. I wouldn't say an adventure, just quality time spent with his Godfather, Casey. Casey was leaving to go back to Notre Dame this weekend and he wanted to take Logan out Saturday because of his birthday and Christmas. They went to Best Buy to return something and Casey said he couldn't get Logan out of the store, they were there for like an hour because of some demo game that Logan was playing and Casey not having children just let him play. Then they went to McDonalds playland. Logan talked about it the whole night and he said he had so much fun. A three year old is easy entertained :) Thank you Casey!!!!!!
Steve and I went to the game on Saturday - what a blow out - it was fun to watch them but we also learned that people do not like you leaving the game early. We left with like five minutes left just to beat the traffic and boy did we get the looks. Not only the looks, but no one would get up and let us out. They just sat there and watched us struggle to get out of the aisle, and if you have ever been to Rupp Arena then you know the seats are close together - LOL
Overall, it was a great weekend - it was cold, but it was fun. I love the weekends and spending time with my boys - it always makes me not want to go to work come Monday morning :(
I hope everyone had a great weekend and is staying healthy. Here is to a quick week.
Uk Game
I am going to my first UK Basketball game tomorrow and I am so excited. Not only because it is a UK game, but I get to be away from the kids - is that wrong to say :) I know, I know, it just has been a very long week and winter already. Hee, Hee, Hee
** Special Prayers**: Please say a special prayer for Aunt Carol's niece, she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. As they begin this journey, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
I hope everyone has a great weekend, headed off now - I will post this weekend, I am sure.
Bubble Baths..... Those were the days
I LOVE bubble baths, there is something so relaxing as sitting in a nice hot tub with the lights out, with candles burning and a great CD to listen to, and maybe sometime a glass of wine or in my case, a glass of beer :). Sunday nights use to be my bubble bath night, every Sunday I would always take one, help me wind down from the weekend, it was my time also to talk to God and just listen to what he was saying or trying to tell me. Well since two boys, a full time job and a house have taken over - my bubble baths are few and far in between. Now my nice big garden tub is being used by two little stinkers, who love to wash their hair with as much shampoo as possible because they know once they turn those magic bubbles on, it is fun time.
So now it has become their Sunday night ritual to take a bath in mommy's tub - Logan calls it his own swimming pool - he loves it. They both will lay back and say this is the life!  Yes, I wish I had their life, no worries, no fears, just being a kid.
I hope all is well with everyone, it is almost the weekend. It has been a crazy week especially work wise with all of these delays and cancellations of school, it makes for a crazy car pool.
Prayers and thoughts continually go out to everyone, especially Aunt Judy and Uncle Dave!!!!!!
Puzzle
sorry for not posting much the last few days - they have been crazy. Sunday we were all at mom's except for Sean and Amy - just had a nice dinner and watched the football games. So upset that Colts lost on Saturday. They were both great games to watch but not the outcome I was hoping for. My boys are into doing puzzles and it is a great winter thing to do so we do not kill each other. Brayden asked mom to borrow one of her 1000 piece puzzles. Whew - I know but he has always been so good at puzzles.
Logan is now starting to do the puzzles that we had for Brayden - and he is doing really well. Of course he says he can not start until after all of his homework is done. It is funny and heart warming to see how much he wants to be like Brayden and how much he does whatever he can to be like him. It is so fun to watch.
So we started the 1000 piece puzzle last night and it just makes you realize how life is just one big puzzle, how you try to get all of the pieces in just right and sometimes it takes a lot of moving it around or readjusting but when all of the puzzle pieces are together it makes for such a beautiful picture. Just like life - once you get all of the pieces of your life together and once everything "fits" it can be such a beautiful thing - it just takes a while to get there.
I hope everyone is great and enjoying this snow day - hopefully the drive home will not be like it was on Friday - makes me want to be at home all curled up by the fire and some hot cocoa or tea and just being with the boys :(
Miss and love you dad - so much.
Much love to all,
