Amazing Race Weekend

another fast weekend, stinks that we already have to go back to the routine of work, school, work outs, practices, etc...two days just is not enough!

So this weekend we participated in the Amazing Race for Edgewood. We had no idea what to expect but Brayden and I both LOVE that show, so we thought we would try it. Now we knew we would not be riding any camels or looking through a hay stack for a needle. It was mainly driving and looking for clues and trying not to get ourselves killed. Lisa God Bless her was our driver and we had all of the kids plus Olivia and Grandma - it was craziness! But I believe in hindsight we all had fun. We decided next year to have smaller teams and to have no kids! It was just too much getting them in and out of the car and you always had to have a team picture! We should have lied and said it was just Lisa and I on a team but we weren't that smart.

It was something that the kids were able to do and it really was fun- Brayden is already talking about next year and what we can do to improve!

Another day of soccer games and homework - ending the evening watching Amazing Race and being with the family who I didn't see at all that much this weekend - crazy weekend!

It is going to be a crazy busy week so I may not have time to blog this week. To put your life in perspective and to make us feel how lucky we truly our in life, please follow this blog. I found it through a friend and it tears my heart up everytime. It will truly make you realize how blessed you really are! Please pray for her!

Photo Bombing or Creeper :)

The fine art of ruining other people's photos. Usually by running in the background or making a silly face in the background.

Or like I call it "Creeper". This past weekend was Ms. Jordyn's 2nd birthday - I know right, can you believe she is 2 already. When I was taking pictures, Mr. Logan was always jumping into them, he had the girls laughing so hard, they thought it was the funniest thing.

I hope everyone is enjoying this crazy weather - oh my goodness. No wonder every one is sick around here - I saw this morning where this weekend is suppose to be rainy and cold but yet next week is suppose to hit the 80's, you don't know whether to turn your heat on or your air conditioning - so crazy.

I hope everyone is well and is having a great week - I will do at the posting - I hope, I just have a lot going on!

Enjoy the weekend and love your family!

Life - is Way Too Short

i think we all know this but I also think we all forget that it is. We go about our days and lives like there is always going to be a tomorrow, and tomorrow, is never guaranteed. I have to go to a funeral today for a friend, a friend that I had grown up with and went to school with. Yes, we didn't talk for many years, but he was still a friend. It is sad to loose people in your life but even sadder when they are your age and they have a young family also. It just makes you really think about life and what is so important.

We are back in the swing of things of going to school, soccer practices and more schooling. It is hard to believe that school will be over in 6 weeks - crazy huh! Life - zooms by!

It has been a beautiful week, beautiful mornings especially - and of course this weekend it is suppose to be cold and rainy which for me is a good thing because it allows me to study which I need to do.

I hope everyone is doing okay - I am kind of at a lost for words today - I know, suprising isn't it!

I hope everyone has a great weekend. Enjoy your life and tell your loved ones you love them :)

Easter and Spring Break

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted, it has just been a crazy week since Easter. It was a beautiful Easter starting the morning with a beautiful Easter service at church. The day before was a busy day doing housework and yard work. Logan took it upon himself to clean his playhouse (see pictures to the right), and he made sure it was clean. When we went to color our eggs that evening he had fallen asleep in the chair and we could not wake him up. So Brayden had to color his eggs by himself :( and Logan had to do his the next day after church. They were okay with it but it wasn't the same when they do it together.

Any who, Easter was great being with the families. Missing dad as always - always miss him, but especially when we all gather for holidays with the grandkids and all. And I am sure we aren't done yet, at least one or two more will be added to our crew!

Then it started Spring Break. We are never ones to go anywhere for Spring Break, mainly because Steve doesn't like crowds, we like to do things "off season", if at all possible anymore. So we just hung around Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area. I had to work a couple of days but one day we did take Grandma to the zoo along with us and the next day we all went bowling - the boys had so much fun since they have never been before. Overall, it was a great week - Here are some of my favorite pictures from the week. I also put a slideshow of pictures up on the side of Easter and just of the week.

I hope everyone had a great Easter and week!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Happy Easter

Hpapy Easter everyone! What a great beautiful weekend it will be. With the exception of the cold this morning brr... it is going to be a great one, being with family and friends, and celebrating Christ's death and resurrection. Of course I will miss dad terribly, I always do but especially during the holidays.

I have been doing a project at work and I haven't seen the boys in two days. With Brayden being on break I don't have to wake him up in the morning and by the time I get home they are already sleeping. It was just a two day project so I am finished with it, but I learned that I hate not seeing all 3 of my boys - I really do. It is okay when it is just a few hours or so but to not see them a whole day - kinda stinks. I am hoping today is a slow day and drama free - HA, being in this HR role there is a lot of drama and well, I just don't with drama very well - hate it. But gotta do what you gotta do.

Besides working so much and our regular sports there really isn't too much going on. Josh, Amy's oldest had his tonsils removed yesterday - he is doing well. I know he was scared, it is scary anytime you go to the hospital and into surgery, you never know what is going to happen, but he is home recovery nicely. Not a fun way to spend your break, huh!

I saw on Uncle Dave's facebook page that he fixed his player piano. I remember as a kid going to his house and he would entertain us with that. We always thought that was the neatest thing in the world, a piano playing music all by itself - WOW! In hearing that he fixed it, it just brought back great memories and a smile!

I hope everyone has a great weekend, I haven't even seen a weather report but I hope it is a nice one for all of the Easter egg hunts! Enjoy your time with your family and friends and remember the reason for this weekend. Many blessings!

Small, small world

you know that saying around here, never talk about anyone in Northern Kentucky because somehow it will get back to them, just because I think seriously we are all related somehow :)...In coaching Brayden's volleyball team this year, I got to know the mothers a little bit better. Yesterday we had a pizza party and I was talking to Father and one of the moms. And we got talking about different churches and what parish I grew up in. I mentioned Holy Cross and how we went there a lot especially when dad was sick. Monday nights we were there for mass a lot. Father then preceded to ask me questions like what my maiden name was, when was dad ill, what was dad's name - come to find out he had said a couple of those masses!!! He is though an India Priest you can understand, he has great English. He said he remembers those Monday nights and the whole clan being there and how awesome it was that dad had such great support and love!!!

Preceding to talk the mom that was talking with us asked me if I was related to Tom and Diana and I said of course, they are my aunt and uncle but my godparents as well. She started laughing and said well I am a Menkhaus! Get out of town! She is Barry's niece. Of course we laughed and started talking about everyone and she had said she heard the story about dad and Uncle Wally and how sad it was.

I am telling you, do NOT say anything about anyone in Northern Kentucky unless it is something nice!!!

I was once again reminded how small of a world it really is - you know, especially Northern Kentucky :)

Spring Break is upon us - woo hoo! I know some our on Spring Break this week, Brayden isn't on until next week, which is so nice to have the day after Easter off - it is such a long weekend for the kids like any Holiday! I hope everyone is doing well and if you are off enjoying your break!

UK WILDCATS NATIONAL CHAMPIONS - I know many are happy and I know dad and Uncle Wally are smiling down because I know they were both HUGE fans!!!!

Happy Tuesday - try to stay awake today after watching the game!!
