Born Again

first off let me just say I am sorry if this doesn't make any sense - I have been up since 2:30 with a sick child. The other day someone told me I wouldn't understand a Bible verse because I wasn't born again. What? And it got me thinking - so I looked up what it meant to be born again and here it is simply put. I found this while researching on http://www.gotquestions.org/

The phrase "born again" literally means "born from above." Nicodemus had a real need. He needed a change of his heart—a spiritual transformation. New birth, being born again, is an act of God whereby eternal life is imparted to the person who believes (2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:3; 1 John 2:29; 3:9; 4:7; 5:1-4, 18). John 1:12,13 indicates that "born again" also carries the idea "to become children of God" through trust in the name of Jesus Christ.

If you want to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and be born again, here is a sample prayer. Remember, saying this prayer or any other prayer will not save you. It is only trusting in Christ that can save you from sin. This prayer is simply a way to express to God your faith in Him and thank Him for providing for your salvation. "God, I know that I have sinned against you and am deserving of punishment. But Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven. I place my trust in You for salvation. Thank You for Your wonderful grace and forgiveness—the gift of eternal life! Amen!"

I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Saviour and I have repented my sins, I believe and have complete faith in God - and I do understand the Bible. I read it daily, I have let God completely take over my life. Is it because I am of Catholicism that I am not "born again", is it because I am in between in that I question the Catholic faith but I also question Baptist, Pentacostals, and other denominations - that is the process of learning and getting closer to God.

I was hurt by this person saying I wouldn't understand - what do they know. They must not read the Bible.

Matthew 7: 1-5
“Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. 3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

I feel like I am a good Christian and I am journeying on to the right path. Sure there are questions but when it comes down to it, we ALL believe in one God and I believe my God loves me and he is with me each and every day as I am with him. I am born again.....

(Sorry just rambling thoughts!)

Miss and love you dad,

Much love to all!
