Dad passed away about a half hour ago. He was surrounded by his brothers and sisters, mom and the five of us along with spouses. We prayed the rosary this morning and everyone was able to sit with him, Jen and I happened to be sitting with him and we noticed that he was going. We called everyone in that was here and it happened quickly.
We are grateful that he is at peace right now and that he has gone home but knowing this was going to happen and knowing that he is at peace still doesn't make it any easier. It is heartbreaking.......
Much love to all,
May God welcome my favorite uncle into heaven. I pray that my mom, Joyce, was one of the first in line to greet him.

When Dad called and let us know about Uncle Bill, I had just flipped on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Ty was just saying his final line, "Welcome home **** family, welcome home." I am guessing that Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Wally where there waving a banner saying, "Welcome home Bill, welcome home."
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely heartbroken to hear about Uncle Bill. Please know you're all in my thoughts and prayers. I'd like to think Uncle Bill and Dad are knocking back a few cold ones together up there...
ReplyDeleteAs sad as it is Bill has suffered more than enough. He was ready and looking forward to going home. We pray that he is now at peace. We would like to extend our sympathy to each and every one of the family members as well as his many friends. We will miss him.

My sympathy to Cookie and family. I feel so lucky to have met all of you. You are truly blessed to have such great memories. My thoughts are with you in this trying time. Love, Susan Kingcade
ReplyDeleteAnd it will be heartbreaking for a long time. There will always be those times when along with the memories, come tears...Tears of Sadness, that we have lost a part of ourselves. Tears of Joy, that he has been reunited with a part of himself.
ReplyDeleteI, too, am sorry for his pain and suffering thru the last days...maybe my father was a little apprehensive about giving up some of his blondes..LOL...Just a final note, I am thankful that my daughter has married into such a loving
and caring family...Did I fail to mention LARGE!
God Bless ALL!
What do you do when you are given six months...
ReplyDeleteI hope I can do it with dignity and courage like Uncle Bill. It was so awesome to share holy moments with each other. I'll continue to keep Uncle Bill and all of you in my prayers. Love and God Bless, Marie
LIKE A FIRECRACKER IN THE EVENING SKY...GONE TOO SOON.
Out of the mouths of babes....
ReplyDeleteMy 5(almost 6) year old said it soo plainly and with soo much excitement, "Mommy, why are you crying? Uncle Bill is up in heaven with Mammaw (Brad's grandmother), Pawpaw and Jesus!!"
The simplicity of it! He is soo right!! Knowing that they are all spending eternity in heaven....what a reason to celebrate!!!
We are praying for your strength to get through this time, and comfort in knowing that Uncle Bill is resting peacefully (and having a grand ol' time with my dad!)!
Love,
Turtle
