Tonight is the annual Homecoming parade in Taylor Mill. I love my city - well technically I don't live in that city anymore but it is where I grew up and I love the smallness of it and the community aspect of it all. Even though the parade hasn't improved since I was in high school when I did the float. But it is good enough for the kids. Of course we pack our cooler and head up to the park, even though it goes right in front of mom's street, the band doesn't start until a bit further down and the kids love the band. But we all tend to meet up, watch the parade and then have our wings and beers afterwards at mom's. Iis a great tradition that we love to do.
Tomorrow is another busy Saturday with a football game, soccer game and golf and dinner - and then Sunday we will be celebrating Ms Lydia's birthday - she turns 4! I will post pictures I am sure. Just yet another crazy busy weekend and this time of the year it seems to get busier. But I love it!
I just realized that this is my 500th post! Can you believe that? This blog started out only as a way to communicate about dad and Uncle Wally's journey to our friends and family - but it has come at least to me so much more than that. It has become a journey to a deeper faith, an outlet for our families, a tribute to dad. THANK YOU to everyone who continues to listen to my rambles, my endless crazy thoughts, and even if no one read it I would still continue it - it is therapy for me and some days I feel like I am talking directly to dad to allow him to see what is going on - we miss him - dearly!!!
I hope everyone has a great weekend - enjoy the weather and family and friends. Be safe in your travels and thank God for the blessed life that you have.
Miss and love you dad,
Much love to all!
