Long Weekend

Hi~
It's been a long weekend, sorry for not posting sooner. It's just been going from one direction to the next. Sean and Lisa moved this weekend - they have a cute house in Edgewood, I think they are really going to like it. Seem to have really nice neighbors and kids on the street for Lydia and Wil to play with. Saturday we went to St. Cecila's festival in Independence. Never been to it. It is a nice one but way too crowded for me, it was so packed, it was very hard to move around in such a big crowd. I think I'll stick to my small ones like St.Anthony and Holy Cross :)
Sunday we ventured down to the fireworks. We got there about 3:30ish - Uncle Jeremy was kind enough to watch Logan for me thank goodness. We parked which in hindsight we parked too close. It's probably better to park far away and walk than so close because you'll never get out. But sitting there for five hours was quite entertaining - to say the least. You could go down there and not have card or anything to play and just people watch and that in itself, will kill the time for you :)........

We actually had a great spot behind the WEBN barge - and after the the five hours - we remembered why we did it, why we sit there for five hours with crazy people, with rude people and with some nice people. For the most Brayden was great and he loved them, he said he could feel his heartbeat so fast - I was so excited, I LOVED them, I can not wait to go back again next year - it is nice to watch on TV, but just to be there and to see and to feel it in person is amazing. I can do without the two hour traffic jam afterwards, but I am living and learning - will find that perfect parking spot yet.
Mom was telling me how when we use to go down as kids, we didn't leave the house until 7 or so and we sat down on the Bellvue side, that is when they use to have two barges. She said they never knew about the fireworks until Dick Secrist told them about and then we would go for years and years and then it just started getting so crowded and a lot of drunks, because you could drink back then. it is nice that you are not allowed to bring coolers in and that it is alcohol free - although a bit expensive, still way better than dealing with some of the drunks you had to deal with.
Miss and love you dad!
Much love to all,
