God saw you getting tired
When a cure was not to be
So he wrapped his arms around you,
and whispered,"Come to me."
You didn't deserve what you went through,
So he gave you rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.
And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain
I could not wish you back
To suffer that again.

Much comfort and love to Aunt Bernie and the family. I know this is a very difficult time, but just know that he is with God now and his mom and dad - he is home again, looking down on everyone and wondering what the big fuss is about. I will miss him dearly......
Mass is scheduled tentatively for May 1st at Holy Cross - more details to follow as I get them.
Much love to all,
Michele- Thank you for all the information and calming sentiments. I just returned from the Monday night Mass at Holy Cross. Aunts Diane, Rita and Joy were there, along with Carol Tully and Judy. Uncle Doug was there too. The Mass was being offered for Dodie Renaker-- what a coincidence! Much love, comfort and prayers for all. Love from Aunt Diana xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteMichele, What a beautiful poem and so fitting for how Wally slipped away to be with God. What a diffcult time for those left here on earth but we know that now he is at peace. It certainly was a concidence that the Mass tonight was offered for Dodie kinda like she knows that Wally is up there with God!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the brothers in Fl. are a source of comfort to Bernie and the kids. I'm with Cookie, take good care of Bill while your all in Fl!
Love to all,
"Aunt" Carol & "Uncle" Mike
ps. what great pictures of you belated Easter celebration!
The poem is beautiful. Love your pictures. Can't figure out how you get those slideshows. Really neat.
ReplyDeleteI was driving home from Holy Cross tonight and saw the most beautiful rainbow. It was raining and sun was out. Made me think of the joys and sorrows of life, but mostly the sadness of Wally's death. I am so glad that Dave, John, Bill, and Tom could be present for Bernie and her family at this time. Kind of like they are there for us because we couldn't be there.
Love
Aunt Rita
I saw that beautiful double rainbow tonight to, It made me fell like a peace had come over me. Perfect timing. What a beautiful gift from god to calm all of our sad and heavy hearts.
ReplyDeleteI think the fact that there was a rainbow is God's way of telling us that Wally is at peace and He is taking care of him. One of my fondest memories with my mom was visiting my Grandmother's grave when I was too young to understand. There was always a bird chirping sweetly in the tree above and my mom told me that was God's way of telling us she was better off with Him. Frank Lloyd Wright wrote, "God is the great mysterious motivator of what we call nature, and it has often been said by philosophers, that nature is the will of God. And I prefer to say that nature is the only body of God that we shall ever see." More simply, Frank Lloyd Wright also said, "I believe in God, only I spell it Nature."
ReplyDeleteAunt Cookie,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted you to know we're having a great time with Uncle Bill (and Tom,Dave and John). We're taking good care of them. We played cards last night and took all of their money! Does that qualify as taking good care of them?? LOL
It's really, really nice having them down here with us...we're so happy they made the trip.
See everyone soon.
Love,
Theresa
