Devastation

that is all I can say about this weekend. What a devastation Friday was, all of those people who have lost their homes, who have lost everything and some even their lives. But the outpouring of the community is so overwhelming - between all of the donations and the volunteering - even though we don't understand why it happened besides that it is Mother Nature but it helps knowing that the community will always be there to rally around a neighbor in need.

This morning I had someone in my office complaining about something minor and I looked at them and thought to myself, really this is your big worry for the day, you have a co-worker who lost her whole entire life and has no place to live and you are worried about something so small and trivial. But aren't we all that way - sometime or another. Whether it is caring about what someone says about you, whether someone likes you or not, whether UK is going to win the NCAA, whether we have the big house, whether we are fashionable enough, whether we are perfect enough, in the realm of reality who cares about any of it. It is all unrealistic, non-trivial BS items that in the end of your life that doesn't really matter - you know. It just doesn't really matter!

Please pray for all of the people who were affected by the tornadoes, that they may find an understanding of why it happened - these are the people who truly know and who truly understand that all of the non trivial matters really don't matter! They are the thankful ones for every single thing they have, they are the ones that will teach us a lesson! They know what reality really is. So as we sleep in our cozy beds tonight with our warm blankets, with a roof over our head, please keep them in your prayers. You never know one day it may be you.
